Dear INAI Members,
It is with immense honor and gratitude that I step into the role of the 12th President of the Indian Nurses Association of Illinois (INAI) for the 2025-2026 term. Serving this incredible organization is both a privilege and a responsibility that I embrace with deep commitment. As we embark on this journey together, I am inspired by the boundless potential within our community and the remarkable growth of Indian nurses in the U.S. healthcare industry. Your
dedication, resilience, and leadership continue to make a profound impact, shaping the future of nursing in this country. INAI has long been a pillar of support, advocacy, and professional excellence for Indian nurses, and together, we will take it to even greater heights.
My Vision for INAI (2025-2026)
Strengthening Our Membership – Our strength lies in our members. We will focus on expanding our reach, engaging more nurses of Indian origin, and fostering a sense of belonging and pride within INAI. By amplifying our collective voice, we can drive meaningful change and broaden our impact.
Enhancing Visibility & Advocacy – It is time to position INAI as a leading force in healthcare. We will strengthen our presence within the community, academic institutions, and professional organizations, advocating for the advancement of nursing practice, education, and research. Additionally, we will collaborate with the National Association of Indian Nurses of America (NAINA) to extend our reach, strengthen our advocacy efforts, and ensure our collective voice is heard at both state and national levels.
Expanding Community Initiatives – Recognizing the urgent need for mental health support and substance abuse prevention, we will launch initiatives that empower nurses to advocate, educate, and provide resources to those in need. Our work will extend beyond the profession, making a tangible difference in the communities we serve.
Securing Grant Funding –To sustain and expand our initiatives, we will actively pursue grant opportunities. These funds will allow us to invest in impactful programs, provide scholarships, and enhance professional development resources for our members.
Engaging the Next Generation – We will inspire the future of healthcare by creating volunteer opportunities for high school students aspiring to enter medical professions. Through mentorship and exposure to nursing, we can shape the next generation of compassionate, skilled professionals.
Advancing Continuing Education & Digital Skills – INAI has a strong tradition of providing high-quality continuing education (CE). We will continue offering evidence-based learning opportunities while focusing on enhancing nurses’ digital literacy. Embracing technology will empower our members to stay ahead in an evolving healthcare landscape.
These initiatives are only the beginning, and I am grateful to have a dedicated team who has joined me in this journey. Leadership is not a solo endeavor—it is a shared commitment, and I am honored to stand alongside each of you as we work toward a common goal.
To my fellow nurses, let us embrace this journey with courage, compassion, and collaboration. As nurses, we are not just caregivers; we are leaders, advocates, and changemakers. Together, we can achieve extraordinary milestones, not just for INAI but for the broader nursing profession and the communities we serve.
This is our time—to lead, to innovate, and to make INAI a beacon of excellence, unity, and hope. Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to working with each of you and making a lasting impact. A new era of progress and possibilities begins now!
With gratitude and enthusiasm,
Dr. Simi Jesto Joseph
